The cost of living in Bangkok is not the same as it used to be. Gone are the days where you could pick up a GoGo Bar Girl for less than 1000 Baht. Things are changing and here is everything you need to know about living in Bangkok costs and prices of girls too.
So, you plan your holiday to Thailand you want to make the most of it by estimating what your budget should be. It really depends on how long you are visiting and what your plan is. Considering that we are all here for mongering, it goes without saying that the costs I am going to talk about include things related to your travel, hotel stay, nightlife, and adult entertainment. Let’s get straight to it.
Airfare and Cost of Living in Bangkok
This really depends on which part of the world you are coming from. Always try to book your tickets well in advance so that you get the best deals. Skyscanner is the best at this and you are sure to find a great deal online. Always remember to find a seat in the aircraft where you will be most comfortable. If you are a big guy like me, then you should opt for those seats that are near the aisle or in the front of the aircraft. More legroom means that you can stretch. If your flight is a long one, you will want to get as much sleep as possible and the extra legroom always helps.
Short Flights or Long Flight?
On the other hand, if you have a very short flight, it should not matter. But try to get as much sleep on the plane as you can. You will need to save your energy for the fun that awaits you. Basically, you want to avoid dealing with as much jet lag as possible. Book your flights in advance so that you get the best prices. Do an early or web check-in so that you get the best seats.
Hotels & Accomodation
The great thing about Bangkok is that there is a hotel that is capable of fitting your budget no matter how much you want to spend. There are small studio apartments that you can rent out for as low as 400 Baht a night but be prepared to make plenty of sacrifices related to water, cleanliness, and amenities. The good news is that most of these are Guest Friendly Hotels in Bangkok so you know that you can bring women back to your room. If you want to spend more, you can get a great hotel with a pool and a minibar for as low as 3000 Baht a day. Here is a list of the best Bangkok Guest Friendly Hotels to help you narrow down that choice.
It’s Cheap. Don’t Worry.
Long staying guests and early bookings always ensure better discounts. So please book your hotel accommodation in advance. If you are considering staying in Bangkok for more than 3 weeks, I would highly advise that you check out renting a condo for a month. Those are much more cost-friendly. You may not have room service but you can be assured to save a few big bucks you can spend elsewhere.
Another important factor to keep in mind when selecting a hotel is to ensure that you find one that is near the action. The best hotels are around the Sukhumvit line, particularly near Nana. There are budget-friendly hotels as well as posh five-star properties here. You are sure to find something. It’s best that you stay here because it’s so close to where all the action is. If you really want to cut costs and if you are staying with a friend, you can also choose to bunk at a hostel. These are lovely little cozy places that offer you a night’s accommodation. But you won’t be able to bring girls back here. If mongering is your thing, get a hotel.
Location is Important
If traveling and in-call services like BJ Bars is your thing then you can get a hostel. The best hostels are near Khao San Road Bangkok which is the party capital of the city. You will meet plenty of people here that can party with you till the early hours of the morning. Evidently, selecting a hotel is another vital part of your trip. It is the second biggest expense you will have, so think wisely.
Food and Drink Cost of Living in Bangkok
This is where you are going to end up spending the least amount of cash. There are a plethora of food options everywhere in Bangkok and if you are worried about the cost of living in Bangkok, food and drink should be the least of your concern. Street food vendors are all over the place. You can get a decent meal off the streets for as low as 100 Baht. A meal at McDonald’s would be around 300 Baht. 7 Eleven are the department stores that are everywhere in Bangkok. You can get a slushy for 30 Baht.
Other Expenses
A pack of Marlboro Lights is somewhere around 200-300 Baht. Chips and crisps are around 50 Baht a packet and if you want to enjoy a great meal in a restaurant, you should end up paying no more than 600 Baht for a single cover. Try to get a hotel that offers you a complimentary breakfast so that’s taken care of.
Drinking in Bangkok
Drinks are relatively cheaper too if you know where to go. A good whiskey or rum can be picked up by the bottle at a 7 Eleven for 800 Baht. Beers are 100 Baht a can here. But if you go to a GoGo Bar, you can pay up 150 Baht to 200 Baht for a draft of Chang. Beer at better sports bars like Hooters is around 180 Baht for beers. The cost of living in Bangkok is relatively cheaper when it comes to grabbing a couple of drinks. There are alcohol kiosks around every nook and corner of the Sukhumvit line where you can sit on a super comfy chair and drink to your heart’s delight. There are also a couple of plenty of bars around. You will never feel alone.
Girls, Freelancers and Adult Entertainment
This is the main reason why you come to Bangkok. The girls in Bangkok are cheap too. Well, this depends on what kind of girls you want to have fun with. The adult entertainment options are a lot and there are plenty of options to choose from. What you want to do is set aside a couple of thousand Baht for your mongering sessions. Budgeting is absolutely essential because if you end up falling for a hot Thai girl, you will end up spending all your money and the rest of your trip will go moot. If you want to go to a massage parlor, then you can end up paying up to 1500 Baht for a complete session. This would include your Happy Ending Thai Massage in Bangkok too.
Cheaper but Exotic Options
If you want something cheaper and more exotic, you can visit one of the many BJ Bars that cost up to 1000 Baht for a girl to pop you off. In case you end up going to a GoGo Bar, then you will find that you end up paying much more here for girly drinks, mamasan drinks, and bar fines. Don’t spend more than 1000 Baht in these bars. If you want to bar fine the girl, then you may end up maying 800 Baht more. The girl would be willing to come out with you for 1500 Baht.
There are also freelancer girls around that can cost you 900 to 1000 Baht for a single session. If you want a truly relaxing massage with Nuru, then you can spend up to 2000 Baht for a normal girl and 3000 Baht for a model. If you stay at Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy, you can take a walk late at night to find girls that are much cheaper. You can score a freelancer off the street for low as 1000 Baht for a single session or 2000 Baht for the whole night.
Transport Cost of Living in Bangkok
This is fairly cheap too. You can get a metro pass that allows you to travel relatively cheaper for a week and you don’t need to stand in a line at the ticket booth. The Bangkok Sky Train (BTS) and MRT (Metro) are great ways to around the city. It’s dependable, fast, and convenient too. All major tourist and adult Bangkok 112 attractions are near an MRT or BTS station.
You could always take a taxi if you want the ultimate convenience but they will be a little pricier. Always make sure that the cabbie knows you want to travel by the meter before you sit in the car. If he does not agree to the meter, skip it. There are plenty of other taxis around. Do not take the Tuk Tuks. They are a complete waste. They’re expensive and really shit too. No air-conditioning in them means you’ll be sweating a lot more than usual.
Avoid the Scammers
There are these pilot bike taxis which you can take if you want to cover short distances. These are great if you want to go from Soi Nana to Soi Cowboy. Other than short distances, do not take them. If you want to do a lot of sightseeing in the day, get a day cab or a Grab taxi. These are ideal as they would end up becoming cheaper. The cost of living in Bangkok with respect to transport is a hit and miss. If you are staying near the Sukhumvit line and here only for mongering, then you won’t be doing much travel.
